How to Read People Like a Book 50 Uncommon Tips you Need to Know Successful Living Series Book 1 edition by Murray Oxman SelfHelp eBooks
I have been an avid reader of this type of book for over twenty years. What I have found is that the books that have given me the most help are the ones most disliked by others, because they strike to close to home. This book is a perfect example of what I'm talking about, a lot of people have strong negative reactions to it. I must admit at first I let the nay sayers influence me,
but i bought this special book and read it several times and each time I was more surprised than the last!
Anyone who has an opportunity to read it and doesn't is deneying themselves a great resource. Read it several times-- you'll be glad you did. Some carp about its size -- which is why I love it so much. It's short and to the point and loaded with powerful help. Murray Oxman puts more in twenty pages than most authors put in One hundred,

How to Read People Like a Book 50 Uncommon Tips you Need to Know Successful Living Series Book 1 edition by Murray Oxman SelfHelp eBooks Reviews
This book was not what I thought it would be. That was a pleasant surprise. I bought the book thinking it would be a self-help book about reading other people and characterizing them. It turns out, the book is more about self-evaluation - what you project outwards and what you allow in.
"How to Read People..." is a thought-provoking book. It is short. Many of its chapters are short. The ideas presented are short. None of the means it is it is not meaningful or helpful, however.
This is the type of book that can be read over and over. In fact, in the beginning of the book, it advises the reader to do so. Each reading will produce another revelation depending on the frame of mind the reader has at the time of the reading.
The ideas and philosophy professed in the book are almost Eastern mysticism. The book teaches "wholeness" with the Universe and obeying the practice of being oneself by following one's true feelings.
The book is very portable. It is a small hardcover. It can easily fit into a jacket pocket or purse.
I am in complete agreement with the previous "Worthless" review. I wish I had read it before wasting $4.95 on this pamphlet. The book is just 17 pages of observations that any adult of average intelligence will have made by age 18. I defy anyone to find one sentence in there that will be new and not previously learned from everyday life.
the booklet arrived in a timely manner and in good shape - it is a good short read and even though i didnt learn any new facts, it did help me open my mind to think things in a little different way. especially about time just being something we all agreed on - what time is it really anyway teeeeheeee ;>) i really enjoyed it thanks
This book has nothing to do with "how." It is just a bunch of random thoughts on the way the author thinks people are. It is very brief but cynical and the author seems to think all people are after something or out to be self-serving.
I have a collection of over 500 books and this is the first book I have ever wanted to throw in the garbage. It did not make me feel anything. Not happy not sad, it was just blaaa.
I read the book few times before I bought it in my kindle really help full don't get paranoid but just observe
The book was a little disappointing and I guess you get what you pay for. I would use this buyer again because, I couldn't believe how fast the service was! Awesome!
I have an open mind when it comes to things so I gave this a try and was hopeful but disappointed. But it makes sense. You can't explain our complex behavior in 17 pages with statements that give skepticism to every human behavior the author brings up.
Example Thank you - the author says beware of people that say thank you because they really want you to do it again. Of course dummy. I could probably put the entire pamphlet in this space but spare your time. This book makes you look at life in a defensive, paranoid lens and to trust no one. Yes that's point 29. Humans are social creatures and we need to explore each other - not 2nd guess and discount everything people do in life. Sometimes people do get sick, sometimes they do give - this says take it and ignore the thank you. You will quickly find you will have no one to "read like a book" around you if you follow this.
This book is a waste of time. I find more insight in a fortune cookie. It offers nothing in deciphering interactions to MAKE IT GO YOUR WAY. That's what we are all looking for right?
If you follow this book - which of course you shouldn't because he leaves an out in the end "don't blame me I'm just sayin," you will end up alone and with no social interaction - no community with which to belong, except an insane asylum.
Try "Get Anyone to Do Anything Never Feel Powerless Again--With Psychological Secrets to Control and Influence Every Situation" by David J. Leiberman PhD. The title is a little goofy but it's a good quick read and it WAS a New York Times Best Seller.
