Bounty hunter Harrison Quaid is perfectly happy in early retirement living in the Caribbean and going on sunken treasure expeditions, but then billionaire Gene Morgan arrives and gives him an offer he can't refuse. He drops everything to hunt down the one woman that he left behind and that he had hoped to keep hidden forever Emily.
Both Harrison and Emily must band together to protect the missing keys to the genetic sequence of the resurrection gene. They must risk everything as they jet-set worldwide to accomplish their mission. But the Leader, the billionaire, a demented German woman assassin, and a Chinese hitman all want the same thing and they're not afraid to destroy everything in their path to get it.
Harrison and Emily need each other more than they know and so does the rest of the world.

Interesting story and a thrill ride as well. J J Alston is a new author to me and I will be checking out more of his books.
Hidden Gem Recommendation, J.J.Alston’s, Infinity Gene, is also offered on KU! Premise of Albert Einstein developing genetic sequencing and a process that has allowed him to live almost 150 years is intriguing, but quickly becomes a nightmare with the revelation of Nazi plot of global destruction to be carried out by to Hitler and his army which have been on ice all these years. Characters are unique and complicated, both heros and villains. SyFy mixed with adventure, conspiracy, secrets, danger, violence and romance. Captivating from the very beginning, moved quickly along and leaves you anticipating the next installation.

I've had an incredible run with picking good books recently, but, unfortunately, this was not one of them.
An intriguing premise was what drew me to this book, but sadly, the execution was lacking. There's some pretty clunky writing, particularly in the first third of the book. The combination of the awkward writing, the characters who were little but caricatures and the cartoon-like plot actually had me snarling at my e-reader.
*SPOILER ALERT*
A hitman is close on your heels as you stumble through the Costa Rican jungle and what do you do? WELL, you stop and have a chat of course, I mean that's quite normal behaviour. I really hate it when characters behave like idiots solely to progress the plot.
The final straw was the author's decision to have Albert Einstein working with an Adolph Hitler clone. Whatever minuscule shred of credibility the plot had flew totally out the window with that egregious decision.

Not the least bit enjoyable, kept waiting for the next cliché to drop or the wrong word to be used (epiphany instead of epitome, dredged instead of trudged etc) or the next physics defying event, Like the magically flipping car after it … didn't hit anything … and the author was seemingly more than willing to oblige.
Very good.
Good book.
Gene sequencing, a love story, drama and action all combined for a SciFi story that keeps you guessing right up to the end. Can hardly wait to read the next book.
This book was filled with intriguing twist and turns that kept me turning the pages long g after I should have gone to bed.
Through it's not my usual genre, it was well written with a high level of suspense.
J. J. ALSTON is one author I look forward to reading more of his books.
